Autonomous Robotics System (ARS)
The first component of the Project ORRCA system is the ARS. Essentially the ARS module is a robotic craft that navigates a body of water autonomously collecting data or performing other tasks as it goes. It performs two main functions for our project. (1) It uses sensors and on-board testing equipment to determine the pollution level in certain areas of a water body and creates a geo-map of pollution concentration. (2) It carries and deploys the second component of our system, the MFS.

Modular Filtration System (MFS)
The second component of the ORRCA system is the MFS. The MFS is a multi-stage filtration module carried and deployed by the ARS which filters the pollutants out of the water. It is modular, meaning its core filtration components can be switched out depending on the pollutant we are trying to filter out of a specific water body. The MFS unpowered and reusable.
Putting it Together: Cleanup Plan
The ARS and MFS are combined into one solution we use to clean water bodies. We are still refining our cleanup plan but check back soon for a more detailed plan overview!
Mapping Pollution. Globally.
To combat a global problem as extensive as water pollution, we need to map the effected areas. To do this we used really really powerful software and some crazy developer tools to create a global, crowdsourced water pollution database.
